Sherwin Williams Pewter Green LRV
LRV stands for Light Reflectance Value. Have a detailed look at my latest article to know more about this scientific color term! (THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO PAINT COLORS, LRV (LIGHT REFLECTANCE VALUE) AND MORE)
Always remember, LRV is an important term to know when choosing the paint colors for your home. Ignoring the LRV of a paint color might lead to a mess and confusion later!
It determines how light or dark a paint colors is. (On the scale of 0-100)
Hence, for Sherwin Williams Pewter Green, the LRV is 12. And that means this color falls on the darker end of the scale – and quite dark to almost play a dramatic role in your room.
Well, you must also know that the darker the paint color, the more light it absorbs, and the lesser airy it makes your room feel.
However, now here’s a little twist to know!
The light reflectance value of a paint color can be quite subjective from room to room.
It depends upon various other factors like surrounding architectural elements in the room, size and type of the windows, compass direction of the windows, and the kind of furniture.
For instance, in the north-facing rooms – SW Pewter Green is bound to feel cool and crisp with a major hint on grays! Yes, typically, this room receives minimal natural light with a tinge of cool gray to it. Thus, molding the paint color on a cooler side.
In the south-facing rooms, the same SW Pewter Green might appear slightly warmer and muddy green. Typically, this room receives ample warmth and natural light throughout the day.
In the east-facing rooms, this color will look slightly warmer in the morning but towards the afternoon, it’s going to showcase a cool and grayish touch!
And lastly, in the west-facing rooms, this color will start appearing slightly warmer from the afternoon and onwards.
You see – paint colors are big time chameleons and they can alter their appearances every now and then.
Furthermore, always remember that the more light you give to a room with pewter green in it, the airier and brighter will it appear!

Hello,
We are in search of an earthy chameleon shade of green that never appears blue for kitchen cabinets. Thinking a gray/green on the darker side. Two under consideration are SW2815 Renwick Olive andSW Bunglehouse Gray. Any feedback on these colors is much appreciated.

Hi Muriel,
You must definitely choose SW Bunglehouse Gray for the cabinets since that is more muted and subdued!
