[…] Shoji White […]
There have been quite a few color consultations I have done so far – and trust me, this was one of the most interesting, fun, and challenging!
I get a couple requests every week asking me about an off-white with warm undertones that don’t showcase a tinge of pink, purple, green, or blue.
And along with this, a paint that truly feels warm, welcoming, and quite airy – yes, Sherwin Williams Shoji White it is!
After this beautiful living room makeover – I can confidently say that Sherwin Williams Shoji White is one of the best creamy white paint colors.
It feels soothing and extremely light-headed – thus, a wonderful recommendation for transitional as well as traditional interior design styles.
What Kaitlin (my Color Consultation client) Wanted..
Right when Kaitlin moved to her new house, she opposed the idea of all cool gray walls!
And since the installed hardwood floors have a dark stain – the rooms appeared even more dark and dingy.
Although her design style is Transitional – the current color palette totally didn’t favor her needs.
And that’s when we collaborated to figure out the best true creamy paint color for her living room.
She tried coating a fresh paint of Sherwin Williams Natural Choice – and that truly felt too light for her double-heightened living room.
On the other hand, Sherwin Williams Steamed Milk is an off-white that has deep pink undertones.
Hence, the major challenge was to pick an off-white neutral that was light, airy, and warm with true beige undertones. (No yellow undertones)
At the same time, she didn’t want the natural light to wash off the undertones too.
So, after trying a couple of swatches for her north-facing living room (along with some chit-chat on zoom call) – we decided the best paint color that suited her needs and requirements.
Shoji White By Sherwin Williams It Is
This warm neutral with beige undertones feels extremely cozy and comfortable.
From bold gray to warm off-white – Sherwin Williams Shoji White in the living room does wonders!
Moreover, Sherwin Williams Shoji White has an LRV of 74!
It offers the best of both worlds – exhibit a warm appeal and at the same time, not wash away the undertones.
And lastly, this color totally complements the transitional style interior design and her off-white linen upholstered couch.
Furthermore, on the trims, moldings, and ceiling – we used Sherwin Williams Pure White!
It further helps create a warm and welcoming realm – while truly collaborating with warm SW Shoji White, seamlessly!

Hi,
Im having such a hard time with paint colors. I am interested in shoji white, I have a lot of natural lighting coming in during the day. My floors are “dark walnut” by minwax. The couch I purchased is AXIS 2 in douglas ice. I want a very welcoming and airy type of living room. In your pictures it looks like Shoji white is more yellow beige, is there any other pics you have? Please help
