Is Sherwin Williams Snowbound Warm or Cool?
In my books, Sherwin Williams Snowbound definitely falls on the ‘neutral’ end of the scale. Well, it’s neither too cool nor too warm, not even bright, stark, or a super clean white paint color. It’s definitely a soft white color with a creamy base and a ‘no yellow’ undertone look and not too icy and frosty. It slightly inclines on the warmer end of the scale without looking overly warm or heated!
For instance, try placing a swatch of SW Snowbound against SW Alabaster and SW Extra White and you’ll observe how neutral, calm, and soft this color appears. It definitely is not as stark and cold as Sherwin Williams Extra White or even creamy and yellow-based as Sherwin Williams Alabaster. Well, this illustration also proves that SW Snowbound has a wink of violet or pink with considerable depth to it.
Does Snowbound Look Pink?
Sherwin Williams Snowbound has the tendency to exhibit a wink of violet or pink. So, if you look closely, you’re quite likely to observe a touch of taupe or pink that may not be very dominant. Else, if you intend to use SW Snowbound on the walls, trims, and ceiling – the undertone may truly subside.
Is Snowbound Too Bright?
SW Snowbound is definitely on the lighter end of the scale but definitely not too bright like SW Extra White or SW High Reflective White. It definitely has some muted depth and undertone which prevents the color from appearing too bright. Rather, SW Snowbound is quite soft and calm!

SW Pure White is definitely softer and warmer than SW Snowbound. Well, SW Pure White falls on the lighter end of the scale with quite a neutral base – not too warm nor too cool. Meanwhile, SW Snowbound has a wink of taupe or pink making it slightly cooler.
Is Snowbound a True White?
SW Snowbound is a soft white paint color and not a true white color. Well, in general, true white colors lack any undertones and generally feel true to nature. Meanwhile, SW Snowbound has a wink of taupe, violet, or pink and when placed against a true white swatch – the undertones become even more dominant.
What are the Undertones of Sherwin Williams Snowbound?
SW Snowbound is one of my favorite soft white paint colors. Especially for cooler or neutral-toned homes, I absolutely love to recommend this paint color. Meanwhile, for all the homeowners who absolutely hate the sneaky yellow undertones and yet are looking for a not-too-icy color – SW Snowbound is definitely something to have an eye on!
